BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE:
RAILROAD EARTH TO PERFORM NEW SELF-TITLED ALBUM IN ITS ENTIRETY AT ANNUAL THANKSGIVING BASH IN STROUDSBURG, PA NOV 27
SELECT FEW FANS TO FILM SET FOR LIVE CONCERT VIDEO
Railroad Earth are adding something new this year to their annual two-night Thanksgiving bash at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, PA. On Friday Nov 26, they’ll play a traditional, anything-goes Railroad Earth show, but on Saturday Nov 27, the “Wilco-via-a-Nashville-detour” (Blurt) band will open the concert by performing its critically acclaimed new self-titled from start-to-finish.
Additionally, Railroad Earth is calling on a select few superfans to videotape the show. This footage will be edited with pristine soundboard audio for a concert film – “by the people, for the people” – to be released in the new year. More info on the release will be revealed soon via the band’s website and Facebook page.
Critics are hailing Railroad Earth’s new self-titled album as their finest work yet. Men’s Health called the album “The perfect soundtrack to a long fall drive,” while Vanity Fair raved that “The gritty guitars are turned up and the vocals evoke Full Moon Fever-era Tom Petty harmonies.” The record earned the band its first Billboard 200 debut, a #5 spot on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, and their best first week of sales ever.
